Brain training is a game for the DS-Carol Vordermann advertises it!! Its supposed to help stop your brain degenerating. Allegedly the more you use it, the "younger" your brain gets!! Its a bit like those programmes that Philip Schofield and Ann Robinson do combined with IQ tests

OMG!!! I really really did used to have one of them!! I had an "adventure" game for it-the only thing I can remember about it was that it started- You're in a forest. Trees.
LMAO!!!! I spent ages typing programmes into it so I could play some really crappy game like ping-pong, then about 5 mins into it my mum made me turn it off for tea!!! LOL!!!:lmao::lmao::lmao:
vic 20/commodore 64 what a waste, half the time you`d spend tryna load them tapes and when it got to the end the damn thing didn`t work, its no wonder me and computers ain`t compatable:ranting:
That's it-if you had one of them you've no chance LOL!!! I spent ages looking for it at my dad's not long back but my mum must have disposed of it-thought it would've been a laugh showing it to the kids LOL!!!:lmao::lmao:

It was the noise the tapes used to make when they were loading up-that high-pitched screech!!! Oh the memories LOL!!! Kids these days don't know they're born LOL!!!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

The Final Fantasy one is excellent... there's loads to it too - I love all the 'Fighting Fantasy' style of game, especially ones that have more than one character/spell casting/increase armour & weapons etc. plus this has got loads of baddies there and various bits to do - I'm getting well into this one now!
My other favourite was 'Vagrant Story' on the Playstation - now if they ever translated this to the DS I'd be on it like a shot!
As to 'Brain Training' - I had the first one when it came out and it's pretty good - has 'Soduko' games on it too... but for the mo. I'm happy trying to defeat manticores and zombies, and trying to decide whether or not to use a mithril sword, or a level one 'blizzard' spell!
Games certainly have come a long way though... here's my computer c.v.
Oric 1 (48K - games took between 30 mins. to one hour - fave game: "Hunchback")
ZX Spectrum (48K - favourite game - "Head Over Heels", "Jet Set Willy,", "Elite")
Commodore 64 (more colour and less 'monochrome' games than the Spec. fave game - "Ghosts N' Goblins")
Sega Megadrive (no more loading time now games are 'cartridge based' - fave games, "Sonic The Hedgehog", "Goldenaxe")
Nintendo Gameboy (black and white, but portable! Fave games, "Tetris").
Nintendo Gameboy Colour (as the above, but now with colour! Fave game "Ghosts N' Goblins")
Sony Playstation (now this is where graphics go up a level and the gameplay is more like 'in the arcade'. Fave games "Vagrant Story", "Diablo" and "Tekken III")
Nintendo Gameboy Advance (portable and in colour, plus it plays ordinary 'Gameboy' games. Fave games "Lego Star Wars" and "Baldur's Gate").
Sony Playstation 2 (Fave games "Airblade", "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, "The Simpsons: Hit & Run")
Nintendo DS (great graphics, sound etc. etc. Fave games "Mario 64" and the one I'm playing now - "Final Fantasy III").
As to the newer machines - the Playstation 3, Wii and the XBox 360 I'm not bothered - Jaysus, ook at how many I've had over the years - I'll stick with my DS, my GBA and the PS2!

THIS (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=FdfJhTle8fg&mode=related&search=) noise will bring back a few memories so make sure you have your speakers on folks.
:celb (15):
 - can't get the game working... I'll have to alter the vol. on my tape machine... about 3/4 of full vol. as I recall!
Also - who from today's generation would be happy with:
"Rewind tape to beginning of side 2 and press play."

Even better -

How many games do you recognise?
So many memories there!
N.
And this one has got even more games on it, including one of the 'Dizzy' games, and one I mentioned previously - "Head Over Heels"

I had the specrum plus but always wanted the original rubber key spectrum 48k. There was a rumour going round when the spectrum + came out that if you turn it upside down all the keys would fall out. It didn't work when I tried it.

I had a program for the atari st called 'the graphic advanture creator' which allowed you to make games like head over heels. It was very hard to use though.
I had one too for the spec. may have been a similar one... '3d isometric' - I'd got it sussed - looked very much like 'Dragonlore' when I'd finished.
