Everyday on the news someone been kill and why should they live!?

Bring hanging back and folks will think twice before killing, there loads in our jails still living for what?
Why should we waste our tax payers money on them killers when it been proved.

This country gone to the dog and bloody soft with all them do goods, the cane should be put back into schools and i was cane in school, but you learn from it.

Kind of a bit inbetween here tbh. I don't agree with capital punishment in the respect that life should be valued, but on the other hand some of the people in jail who have been proved without any doubt whatsoever-by DNA evidence or otherwise- to have committed some absolutely horrific crime......I don't know. I think that some of these people have too easy a time in jail and sentences are much too lenient these days........maybe bringing back things like hard labour would help but I doubt it. :sad1:

Bad thing with capital punishment is the effect it has on us....the tax payer. The accused, gets the verdict of guilty and is sentenced to death by either lethal injection or electric chair....depending on the state. BUT..............the accused can be on "DEATH ROW " for up to 15 year....whats with this? If they are supposed to be put to death, why beat around the bush....get it done instead of putting them up at my/your/our expense.

I suppose the death row thing acts as a kind of added torture-you know you're going to die but when??? Depending on what the criminal has done-yeah, make 'em suffer!!!

Mebbe not capital punishment, as such, but why not a punishment to fit the crime? For example, a rapist. Proved absolutely through DNA markers, the alials match perfectly. He done it, no doubt about it. Carefully wrap the offending weapon tightly in barbed wire leaving several metres for slack. Then throw the slack with the offender over a tree branch close to where he lives and then allow the public to throw stones at him for a week. If he lives, he's innocent! Summat like the old ducking stool rule.

If somebody steals off somebody, chop the hand off. If he does it again, chop t'other one off. He'll not do it again 'cos he won't be able to. This would free up the jails - and save on our taxes.

If he kills, then he must forfeit his own life of his own choosing. A lethal injection, pills, whatever. No such thing as human rights if they've robbed someone else of their's.

That's what I think anyway. Me dad always said to us as kids that if we did anything wrong and he found out, he'd get the police to us himself!

Am a soft sod me, but I would be hard on criminals, most certainly I would! :smile1:

I think there are some crimes which are definately worse than others. People who hurt kids-I'd put them down myself, oh heck yes!!!!:ranting:

Absolutely definitely, but everyone is somebody's child, no matter what their age. Folk who kill little ones though should be put down. Sadly I've never had kids, but when I see summat on the news about youngsters either being abused, mistreated, kidnapped. violated or killed it breaks my heart, so goodness knows what the parents go through. These people are not animals, 'cos animals don't do things like that, but they are sub-human creatures that don't deserve the title "human." :angry2:

That's the way I look at it Mollie. That's why I disagree with capital punishment-because a mother somewhere still has to suffer- but when it comes to people who hurt kids I would make an exception, and as I say I'd put em down myself!!!
