At one time this signal box and railway lines were a very familiar sight has you travelled into certain place near Wigan, does anyone remember where it was :smile1:

I forgot about this topic and you are all very close and gozzer is about spot on and Wiganer1957 is in the right place too, the picture was taken from opposite Spring View Cricket Club on the bridge there in between Spring View and Platt Bridge, that area used to be known as "clinker valley" and it is where the Whelley loop line crossed beneath the former Wigan to Eccles line, which was used until 1992 to transport coal from Bickershaw Colliery and although very over grown now the track beds are still there and if you are travelling towards Platt Bridge from Spring View, if you look over to the right you can see where the signal box and railway lines used to be :smile1:

I recently took this video of the bridge in the picture which is still there, although the area is now very overgrown :smile1:

Got be Spring view looking over towards the canal and flashes. Only got it on the last shot when you panned round and looked down the road towards Platt Bridge.
