Yep-another HP thread LOL!!! So who's getting it and when??? Who's going to be queueing up in the shops waiting for 12.01 to strike???? Well, I seriously did think about it but Mr G is working tonight and I have used my subtle methods of persuasion on him and he MIGHT go and get it for me on his way home!! :celb (15)::celb (15):

I have to get my hands on it before my eldest does. She goes on Brownie Pack Holiday on 3rd August and i've told her that IF we've got it she can take it with her. Only thing is I need to read it first cos she'll either wind me up about what's happened or tell me and ruin it!!:shock1::shock1:

The Sven Hassels were about characters in a German disciplinary unit. The Guy Sajer book was about a half frenchhalf geman soldier who starts of in a supply unit, but transfers to an elite German unit (GrossDeutschland if I remember correctly (which I probably dont :confused1:)). All excellent reads

I have read a couple of them but not sure what they were called-I've got them upstairs somewhere. I enjoyed them actually!! I'm murder for books-my mum always said I'd read the labels off the cans in the cupboard if I couldn't find anything else!! I like stories based in fact-historical novels/war stories- I quite enjoyed one called The Last Hangman-about the life of Britains last hangman (think his name was Robespierre???-it's late LOL):celb (15)::celb (15):

That's what I'm like!! We've got boxes that haven't been unpacked since we moved 5 years ago-and most of them are books!!! I've still got most of my books from when I was little so they've been passed on to the kids-in fact I've just re-read all the Narnia books and they're still a good read!!:celb (15)::celb (15):

What version have you all bought ? The kids cover seems to be the most popular but on the other hand the adult cover incresses in value alot more mainly because they don't print as many copies.

Garnet
21-07-2007, 23:26
We got the kids version-so the kids can actually read it when I've finished LOL!!! Asda had sold out by about 1.00ish-despite limiting it to 2 copies per customer!! 4 pallets full apparently!!!:shock1:

Mr. G and Little bro bought me the Adult version, and I have a kids version arrived in the post from the book club... so me and him in dorrs has one each.. I'm visiting mum at the hospital evry night, so I take it with me for reading in the car park. You have to go at least half hour before visiting or you can't get a parking space... Shame about the Owl..lol
