Here are some clips from Cine films made of Goose Green during the 1950’s most of them are of St Paul’s Church Walking Days, these clips are rough cuts from the original films and the original footage is still being processed, we hope to show these films on Wigan Live in their entirety soon and in a large screen format, the collection contains over ten separate films of life in Goose Green in post war Britain, from the late 1940’s to the early 1960’s :smile1:

Today I have acquired some footage of Haigh Hall and the film must have been shot not long after Haigh Hall was bought by Wigan Corporation for £18000 in 1947 :smile1:

I like the shot of the maroon and white Wigan Corporation bus, the No 2 Ashton service, crawling along behind the procession :smile1:
